I was misdiagnosed initially. They thought it was broken looking at the initial Xrays since my bone was pointed in a funky ass direction. Since the swelling has gone down now they can get a better look at my foot. I actually did something worse... I tore ligaments. So, that is why my bone was all messed up, because it was just kinda chillin there without support. So anyway, I have to have surgery tomorrow to realign my bone and repair the torn ligament with screws and stuff. Fun stuff. Basically, I cant walk for 6 weeks and cannot play sports again for 2-3 months. The doctor said that the ligament I tore was a real bad injury to have because it helps to support the arch of the foot, but that I should be back to 100% because Im young but he said that there is always the chance that it wont heal properly and I could have chronic pain. So.... thats good stuff.
CLIFFS:
1) Wrong info
2) I actually tore ligaments (Lisfranc ligament)
3) Cant run walk for 6 weeks and cant run for 3 months
Damn, I guess this is one of the few times where a broken bone would have been better. I hope that your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly.
I had surgery on Friday the 10th and had 2 pins put in my foot and my ligament re-attached. I had the stiches taken out last thursday and am not supposed to put full weight on my foot for the next 8 weeks. I have to wear a boot until then. Anyway, here are pics I took with my phone at the doc's office before my stiches came out.
Ouch not bad I know your pain (broke/dislocated my left Humerus from my shoulder) Yeah that sucked pretty bad, had to have 2 pins put in, it hurt, so I know your pain.
Brent when you have a thought........ Just let it go.
