I need a good way to hard format an old hdd for the use in my ps2. Also i want to hear the interesting ways you have formated a HDD.

Well i tried my frozen hdd in my playstation 2 and when i activated it on the socom 2 options menu it started makin some noises that i only could imagine came from the depths of hell but anyways it worked for a minute then it came up and said that the hdd was not connected correctly. since i know it was connected correctly i fugure i need the official playstation 2 hdd. if anyone has any ideas on how to make this work or has a playstation 2 hdd for sale or know someone who has one they will sell let me know.

Why did you freeze it?? i have frozen drives before but that was only to get stuff off them if they were dying several times it has worked for me and also dropping them has worked several times but as for regular formatting i just throw it in the old external usb monster and hit format on the beast...
