ok well, i saw the little amout of talking about rts's and i figured y not.
rome is great, and in my mind even if the games are simple any C&C game is fun and has great LAN play.
but they dont offer mearly enough of a construction tree (makes it easy to learn) and they normaly offer only 2 to 3 different races to play.
so right now in my mind i would have ot say Emperor - Battle for dune. its old and i think it has the first real 3D camera for a RTS, not only is it based off books(under the context in the movies) but the regional conquest makes u feel as if u have more control over the story line. the muti player is fun and easy. and the base's u make a real easy to creat and defend do u the story of dune, and its terran.
so Westwoods - Dune has my vote (sorry starcraft )
when 1000 men defeat 10000 or at laest kill half or most and still lose
you a have nice feeling but when you come in with the same amount of men to face them again then you can feel their fear as you take down their whole kingdom that is the feeling i mean.
u cant command 1000 min in that game an take 10000 of the enemy with out a cheat....that easy as helll. rome is still better, its not like its the third total war game. I wish they would remake the first one, the one that takes place in china or japan. i think it look and play alot better then the old on.
not on the battle at the same time but it is possible ok it was more like 8000 i killed god siwss armor is good but still it is pretty good and. they are making the first one again suppose to relase this fall
S T A R C R A F T!!! OMG i cant beleive noone said sc i mean its like the rts of rts's. I dont even like RTS's but i can play Starcraft if I have to. Plus on battlenet u can play on peoples mods/mini games and have like up to 8 people on a map.
