What the hell is wrong with being left. If I had to choose between leaning towards communism or national socialism, I'd fall towards the left every time.

Non war deaths, Communism - 1927-1945 - Over 40 millionIrgendjemand wrote:What the hell is wrong with being left. If I had to choose between leaning towards communism or national socialism, I'd fall towards the left every time.
Non war deaths, National Socialism - 1933-1945 - 8-10 million
War deaths, Communism - Add up the deaths from The Russian civil war, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War.
War deaths National Socialism - 12+ million.
On other notes, liberalism is a mental disease. The want to socialize everything is ludacris. There are no social classes, everyone is equal.. there is no strive for individual progress. It is a stagnet economy, it decreases the quality of life in all facets due to government rationing. The list goes on and on.

You can't possibly trying to prove than communism is worse than fascism. It's estimated that more up to 26 million innocent people were murdered in WWII within a 8 year period, and this doesn't consider that Hitler wasn't the only fascist dictator. Your non war death totals are absurd; an absurdity that is bolsterd by the discrepency between the financial differences between communist and fascist countries. Communist countries are generally poor from the get go, which means that the quality of life is also low from the beginning. Countries, which lean towards fascism are financially better off. Hence they have healthier, more complacent populations.
More people die in poorer countries, it's true now and it was true then. The totals are also blurred by the fact that many of the communist countries are the biggest in the world, have very dense populations, and have been active for longer than 8 years (i.e. China). Communism is still around because it is not as blatently bad as fascism. Fascism had to be stopped. Communism will die on it's own.
Also, deaths in the Korean and Vietnam wars weren't spawned by communism, but by our poking or nose into their business.
It's not that communism is a good thing by any means, but it's surley better than fascism. The point of my entire thread was to highlight the stupidity of this entire subject. it's like bitching about how you like your hamburger cooked. No one wants it raw or burnt to hell, the flavors in the middle. Raw you'll get a disease and die. Burnt: you eat it but blame someone else for the bad taste in your mouth. Socialism sucks, fascism sucks, social democracy is better.
It your worried about quality of life, try looking at Europe where they enjoy higher standards than we do, which are getting better, especially since the dupes we elect to office (Rep and Dem) are more interested in themselves than what they are doing to the country.
Bush must love communism. Otherwise he wouldn't be borrowing money from China, thereby financing the opposite of his ideals and increasing our dependence on the rest of the world, which just happens to be backing their currencies with Euros instead of dollars. If countires don't want dollars then we aren't nearly the superpower we were or could be. Even if, and I stress if, we are morally right.

I hope this doesnt take away from the validity of your statements...but WWII was from 1939-1945... thats 6 years.Irgendjemand wrote:It's estimated that more up to 26 million innocent people were murdered in WWII within a 8 year period
Are they? Prove the totals wrong then and I will admit I am wrong.Irgendjemand wrote:Your non war death totals are absurd
Financially better off as in... Germany in ecenomic shambles and paying billions in war reparations? Financially better off as in the German people burning Marks to keep themselves warm instead of spending them, because inflation was so high. Financially better off as in... Italy's economy taking an extremely sharp turn downward in the years after WWI?Irgendjemand wrote: an absurdity that is bolsterd by the discrepency between the financial differences between communist and fascist countries. Where are you getting this 8 years figure? WWII was from 1939-1945. Mussolini was in power from 1922-1943 and again shortly in '44. Hitler was in power from 1933-1945.Irgendjemand wrote:More people die in poorer countries, it's true now and it was true then. It seems to me that countries like 1930s Germany, 1920s Italy, 1917 Russia, 1940s China all had similar economic conditions. However, in 2 of them, the economy soared. Germany produced the most powerful economy in Europe. The communist countries however... floundered. Socializing everything leads to rationing and shortages. It is impossible to create good conditions when there is rationing constantly.
Is this opinion... or can you back this up. You havent done a good job so far.Irgendjemand wrote:Communism is still around because it is not as blatently bad as fascism.
No? If I recall correctly, both the Korean War and the Vietnam war started due to the Northern communists attacking their southern democratic counterparts, attempting to force communism on them.Irgendjemand wrote:Also, deaths in the Korean and Vietnam wars weren't spawned by communism, but by our poking or nose into their business.
So you feel that government controlling every single aspect of your life is a good thing? I understand that you feel that everyone should have a right to this and a right to that. Fact is, it cant happen. You need to work for what you get. Cuba, for example, has health care for every citizen. However, Cuban officials dont get operations done in Cuba.Irgendjemand wrote:social democracy is better.

Can you give me an example of bettering conditions? I am curious as to this one.
